Tuesday's Tune: Stealing Sheep

Hello and good Tuesday to you. Today has been a really long one for me (work - grr!), so I can think of nothing better than to sit and relax now with some great music. I hope you enjoy this week's choice.

Secret

Remember a little while ago when I told you I had a secret?  Well, I'm nearly ready to share it.  It's something I have been working on for a few weeks and I'm quite excited to hear what you have to say about it.  Stay tuned.

Spider webs

I love it when I find new and interesting ways people have been using doilies.  As a crocheter doilies hold a special place in my heart, so seeing them utilised in ways you wouldn't expect is quite thrilling for me (am I strange - don't answer).  These images come from London based artist Shane Waltener's project called 'Auntie Peggy has departed'.  See more here.

Lately

Hello again and happy Saturday.  I hope you're having a good one.  So far my Saturday has been pretty good - me + my manfriend went to the pub for lunch and had the most amazing homemade pies!  Delicious (I'm still full now).  We're just about to stick on a film and have a lazy evening, which is exactly what I'm up for right about now.

Lately I've been trying to eat better because I found out I'm intolerant to a couple of food stuffs, so sugar and wheat products have dramatically reduced in my diet (although I baked my step-dad a very chocolately cake and had to try a bit - couldn't be helped).  So apart from my chocolate lapse, I've been cooking myself up some new recipes, including fried chili tofu and spinach noodle soup (yum).  I've also been busy crocheting with cotton this week, which has got to be one of my favourite materials for sure!  I made my friends' new baby a hat (hello Isaac), and a few other things that I'll be updating you with soon.

Until then... :)

Industry of One // Erin

Industry of One is one of my favourite sites to browse.  It documents through interviews and pictures the life and style of different individuals.  They're always very interesting, and always unique and stylish.  Above is Erin - one of my faves.  I'd recommend having a look on the site (unless you've got lots to do, because be warned - you'll be on there for hours!).

I'm being pretty good at procrastinating today... have found a new game on my  phone which has got me addicted - oops.  Feeling quite shattered after work today though, so sometimes you just need to take a break from productiveness don't you?  Yeah, I do.

Looking forward to the weekend!

Tuesday's Tune: The Shoes

Hello everyone, how's your Tuesday? Well here's a little tune for today I hope you will enjoy. If you enjoy this make sure to check out their latest video for "Time to Dance" - it's awesome (but rather violent, so be warned). Today is a day for taking the time... I'm taking the time to make myself a delicious and nutritious lunch for work tomorrow. I'm also taking the time to tidy up a few of the projects I've got on the go (and all over the living room). I love being organised.
What are you taking the time to do today?

Neutral

Every time I go on a photo-taking session there are outtakes.  Here are a couple I thought I'd share because they show off something I've been trying to stick to (style-wise) after making it one of my birthday goals to "find my style".  I really love simple colours or shapes with a little bit of extra something that makes the outfit interesting.  A pattern, accessory, texture or colour is all it takes (I think) to liven an outfit up.  So whilst I'm on this journey of discovery, I've been trying to take small steps and start with the basics - neutrals.

White and beige/camel - simple no?  However the pattern on this jumper makes it more interesting than your average.  I forgot to take more pictures of the details (it's all about the details!) but I'm still learning so next time I'll do a better job.

I'm enjoying documenting this stuff because it's giving me real motivation to improve each time.  And thanks so much to all of you who have given me kind words of encouragement.  It means a lot.

Turband three ways

How To Tie A Turband 3 Ways from LEAFtv on Vimeo.

After setting myself a 'style challenge' to wear all of the pretty scarves in my collection, I came across this very useful and inspirational video. This has given me some new ideas on ways to utilise my scarves - I must admit I'm usually pretty traditional when wearing scarves. I think it's time to mix things up a bit.

Happy Saturday! :)

Scarves

I wouldn't say I did this on purpose, but I've managed to get myself quite a pretty collection of scarves over the years.  It's probably my style item obsession.  I like scarves.  The sad thing is I don't show them off as often as I should do.  I end up wearing the same one over and over for quite a while, then I'll switch it one day for no particular reason.  I need to get out of this behaviour, so I'm going to set myself a 'style challenge' and wear all of my scarves over the next month.

I'll try my best to document this and feed back to you guys here and on my instagram.  If you want to follow me on there my username is 'littlelo22'.

Do you have a style item you love and have too many of?  I'm sure lots of you do! :)

This week

I've had this week off work (woohoo!) so I've tried my hardest to be productive productive productive.  I've started running again, I've been for a nutritional intolerance/deficiency test, I've caught up with my best friend, been to a gallery and I've been busy making too.  To reward myself I picked a few wild-flowers and treated myself to a pot of Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream - man that stuff smells amazing!

I'll be sharing more soon about the projects I have been working on.  I know I've not shared a lot of this stuff recently, but it takes so much longer than I think it will.  Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

Uniform

Okay, so I guess this is my first outfit post (!).  Remember when I told you that I don't really have a strong sense of personal style, and I'm trying to remedy that - it's on the list.  Well since then I have been collating images on my Pinterest with the hope of getting some sort of idea of exactly what my style/taste is.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I do have a cohesive sense of style; however I'm not really putting into use in real life.  This is much harder than I anticipated... am I doing something wrong?

Anyway, enough waffling.  So I thought I'd show you a 'typical' outfit I wear day to day.  It's kinda average, but it's what I'm comfortable in.  Jeans, striped top, some sort of big ring, converse and beige mack.  Now I just need to work on jazzing it up a bit.  I'll share more when I venture out a bit.

I'm also really thinking about cutting my hair - I'm just stuck as to what to do.  It doesn't help that I'm the worst person at making decisions.  Really, I'm ridiculous!  Any suggestions are gratefully welcomed.

Style crush: Caroline Drucker

Freunde von Freunden - Caroline Drucker from Freunde von Freunden on Vimeo.

I can waste so much of my time nosing at other people (sounds wierd!). I mean, I love to see the way other people live - that's why I watch so many documentaries. But little snippets like this are better for when I've got a ton of stuff to be getting on with, but need a little bit of pretty or inspiration to get me on the right track. So yeah, how cool is her apartment? Love it.

Jubilee

Happy Jubilee Bank Holiday to all my British chums!  I hope you're having a royal time ;)
