On my style

I'll start by saying this is not an outfit post!

I wouldn't say I'm a stylish person, or that I have a strong personal style.  I have things I like and don't like, and I can definitely point out specific people who's style I admire; so why can't I seem to pull it together?

Maybe I'm lazy (this is true), or maybe I'm just overwhelmed by choice.  This is why I'm trying to hone in on my personal style by blogging about it, and make changes to my wardrobe which will allow me to dress in a way I'm really proud of and comfortable in.
To do this I will need to get rid of a lot of what I already own in order to de-clutter and de-confuse (not a word, I know) my choices.  The only thing is, I'm not very good at saying goodbye to the pieces in my wardrobe that may be shabby but really comfy, and more often than not I end up wearing things because they're comfortable and not because they look good - lesson number one, stop this!

For now though I'll have to take one step at a time and keep making mistakes - that's how you learn right?

It's the little things...

Like having a snuggle-pug as company when trying to tackle your to-do list.  It helps, it definitely does.

The Good Machinery

Maybe it's the mix of pink and silver, but there's definitely something about this shop that makes me want to paint inanimate objects.

Sheffield Vintage & Craft Fair

Earlier this month I went along to a vintage and craft fair I'd seen advertised in Sheffield.  I'd seen this particular venue advertise V+C fairs a few times, but due to various circumstances I could never make it.  This time though I had a weekend free so made sure I got myself down there, and am I glad I did!

I found so many amazing things, I just had to get my phone out and take many many pictures... Yeah, I forgot my camera again!

There was a good mix of vintage and handmade - I did really well not to come away with a million things I didn't really need.  I got talking to some stall holders too, and picked up a few business cards.  I'll blog separately about some of the awesome stalls I saw there, otherwise this post could end up waaaay too long.

All in all I came away feeling really inspired and motivated to get going with my own potential stall.  Since then I've been busy extending my inventory, thinking up packaging and display ideas, and making making making!
Who knows, maybe next I'm I go there will be with stall of my own.

Addicted to yarn

I absolutely love yarn shopping.  I go in to buy one thing and always end up coming out with bags full of yarn for nothing in particular.  Because of this I have soooo much yarn lying around the flat and I'm running out of places to stash it!  Time for a marathon crochet session me thinks!

Do you have any weaknesses for craft products?  Do share.

Tuesday's Tune: Lianne La Havas

I've been loving this song for a number of weeks now on the radio. When it's not been blaring out of BBC Radio 6 I've had it on repeat through YouTube. I just love everything about it. My Dad very kindly sent me her EP for my birthday, and I must say she's fast becoming a favourite of mine! I hope you like this too. Happy Tuesday! - Lois x

Origami: kitten

I love origami.  It's one of the crafts I practice more regularly, and I've been doing it a lot lately.  I'm a fan of Japanese crafts in general, and I love some of the beautiful papers you can buy.  So you can imagine my glee when I came across this pattern on How About Orange.  I'm definitely going to give it a go.  You should too.
