Pootling

With the exception of cleaning my flat, I have not got a lot done today.  I'm feeling a bit lost and I'm not sure why.  I had my little brother living with me for the last month - he left a couple of nights ago and since then I can't seem to get back into the swing of 'normality' for me.  I think a new project should spark things, but I'm having trouble deciding on what to do there as well!  *big sigh*

Until I get my mojo back I'll continue to pootle about... here are three things:
1. My new hand-embroidered cushion cover I treated myself to whilst Christmas shopping.
2. Wooden ducks on my mantlepiece.
3. My Christmas present from Floyd - a portrait of Betty painted by one of my best friend's, Amanda.

12 things I did in 2012

2012 is over and I must admit, I got quite a lot done!  Here are just a few of my highlights...

We saw our good friends Gem and Shaun get married - love these two!

I also saw my little step-sister get married.  It was such a special day and we all had so much fun (and shed plenty of tears).

We took Betty along to a doggy fun day at our local park.  I laughed so hard watching Floyd parade her around to the sounds of "who let the dogs out?".

We went to a fun festival in Manchester, but managed to miss the main act we were excited about by going to the wrong stage and waiting way too long for them to come on (we may have been a little drunk).

I opened up my Etsy shop.

Floyd proposed!  Definitely the highlight of the year - and my life so far!

We celebrated Floyd's birthday by spending a couple of nights in a lovely (dog friendly) hotel in Dovedale, Derbyshire.

I started posting DIY's on this here Blog of mine.  Something I plan to do more of in 2013.

I began my mission to find my style and was brave enough to start documenting it here (I'm usually quite camera shy).

I spent a relaxing week in Spain.

My lovely little niece turned one - isn't she a beauty!

My Nana and Bampie celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary.  They are my romantic role models - they are the perfect couple and I love them both so much!

Well 2012 definitely shaped up to be a great year.  I'm already excited about what 2013 has to offer - I think it may be the best yet.

AWOL

Hello again (said a little sheepishly).  I'm sorry for my total absence of late... I won't go into detail, but I've had a rather turbulent few weeks coupled with a broken laptop which resulted in this complete lack of blogging.  Sorry.
Anyway I'm back now and ready to spring into the new year with enthusiasm.  I've got lots of ideas and can't wait to share them with you.  We'll have a proper catch up soon :)

12 Days...

Gingerbread House from Rebekka Seale on Vimeo.

It's 12 days until Christmas! Are you feeling festive? I certainly am after watching this video, and now I want to go eat lots of gingerbread ;)

On a slightly rubbish note, my laptop is still in the shop and I have no idea when I will get it back (if ever). I've also come down with something, so am wrapped up in bed feeling sorry for myself. Hopefully after plenty of sleep and vitamins I will be back on track in no time.

Issues

Hello folks.  It's Saturday and this morning my laptop decided to die on me.  I have taken it to the shop and they're (fingers crossed) fixing it whilst I type.  Therefore it may or may not be a little quiet again around here for a few days - I'll try my best to keep you updated.  In the meantime I'm off to Bristol tonight to support my friend's band EP launch.

Have a fun Saturday peeps x

Wearing #3

These pictures were actually taken a few weeks ago on a lovely Autumnal walk around the Botanical gardens.  This was probably the last time I wore shoes with no socks!  It's freeeezing here in Sheffield today.

As you can see I was a little braver this time and managed to step outside the comfort of my warm flat to have my picture taken in public.  I felt a little silly as people walked by, but I've got to admit it's quite a nice backdrop.  Betty made a great prop too!

Travelling

I don't like to start blog posts with an apology, but I have to say sorry for the lack of time spent here recently.  Also, I've not managed to capture much of my life in pictures over the last couple of weeks which is why it's been a little quiet.  Because of the dark nights (and my office job) I don't get many opportunities to take good photos to share here with you at the moment, so most of my pictures are taken at the weekends.
The last two weekends I have spent travelling to see family (which I loved!) and because of this I have been lazy in the photography department.  The above photo is the only picture I took of my travels to Cleethorpes.  I promise to do better this weekend.
