Tuesday's Tune: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Today I'm sharing with you a track from my current favourite album. I absolutely rinsed this album (and this song) on holiday, and I haven't stopped playing it since I got back either. I love this happy bouncy electro tune, and I hope you love it too!

Happy Tuesday :)

Just a few more snapshots from our holiday... Such good memories, I wish I was still there.

Two Hills

I have a huge crush - on this shop!  I love everything about it, from it's pretty and simple accessory designs to it's branding.  This series of photographs for their elemental collection was taken by Jacinta Moore who's work I've posted about before when she did a shoot for Primoeza.  She truly is a talented lady.

I'm going to go drool over some more of their fab pieces...

Filey

Me, Floyd and Betty had such a fun holiday in Filey.  We've been there a few times now as Floyd's mum has a place out there, so we feel pretty lucky that we get to enjoy it time after time (and it holds a very special place in our hearts now!).  We did plenty of eating, drinking and relaxing which is exactly what I was hoping to achieve in our week off.

Every time we go we have our little traditions.  We had fish and chips nearly every day, went sea-fishing one day and caught a load of mackerel (yum), we then had to learn how to gut them (gross), we went charity-shop shopping, went to the arcade and won a monkey keyring on the 2p machines (I love those things), I treated myself to a double-scoop ice-cream, and we took Betty on lots of long walk on the cliffs and on the beach.

I look forward to the next time we visit.  I love you Filey!

I'm Back (with the best news)!!

Hello everyone, I'm back from my holidays - and wow what a holiday!  As you can probably guess from the above picture, Floyd asked me to marry him.  I said "yes" of course - he is the love of my life after all!  I'm over the moon excited and can't wait to get stuck in to all the planning.

I feel like the luckiest girl alive.

Holiday

Hello peeps.  I'm just popping in to let you know that I'm off on holiday for a week to (not so) sunny Filey.  It may be wet and windy, but it's a well anticipated break - I can't wait!  No work, no internet, no fuss. So I'm off to pack my bags now, decide what projects to take with me and which books to read, then we're up and away in the morning.

I will miss not being here on my little corner of the internet, but it's also good to let yourself not think about these things sometimes.  When I'm back I'll be catching up with it all and updating you on a few things I have going on.

Until then, have a lovely week without me :)

Fitness

Something needs to be done about my fitness. I've mentioned previously that I've started up pilates again, and am looking forward to the day I have more energy, flexibility and strength. This video is so inspiring to me (don't worry, I'm not going to go crazy fitness lady on you!) - how amazing is this woman? Hats off!

I love yoga and pilates because they're gentle yet challenging exercises. I think the reason I feel so sluggish sometimes is because I don't always look after myself properly, and I plan to change this. As well as changing the way I'm eating (I found out recently I have a wheat intolerance), I'm going to change the way I prioritise fitness in my life - something I have struggled with forever. As the weeks go on I'll be looking for new ways to keep myself motivated, and I'll try and keep you updated along the way.

Wish me luck!

Tired

Today I'm tired.  I hate this feeling.  Work was difficult, and now I'm home I can't get the motivation to do anything constructive.  I just want to run a bath, give myself a good soak, put some pyjamas on and comfort eat.  Instead I need to clean my flat, do some Pilates, work on my secret project and make soup for tomorrow's lunch.  Eugh!

Sorry guys, my next post will be more positive.

Wimbledon

So we may not have had the result we were hoping for, but watching the Wimbledon final yesterday was the most exciting tennis I have seen in my life!  Well done Andy for making it so far - there's always next time.

We celebrated the occasion in true British style with cucumber sandwiches and Pimms.  I tried wheat-free bread for the first time (we've been trying a lot of wheat-free alternatives since I found out about my intolerance), and then we enjoyed some delicious British strawberries - yum!

How was your weekend?

WARMI

I'm absolutely loving the S/S 12 collection from WARMI.  Here's a little bit of what makes them so special:

"The collections are entirely hand crafted by women weavers of the villages of Tausa and Sutatausa in Colombia. Each handmade item is numbered and signed by the artisan that made it. Traditional techniques come alive, with close attention paid to detail in this meticulous work. The result is a collection where each unique piece has a particular aura, charged with the soul of the weavers, and exuding the essence of a valuable object"

I'll have one of each please.

New things

A few new things:
1. A pretty new brass candlestick holder.
2. A new Moroccan style pouffe (well needed).
3. A lovely new trinket tray my manfriend surprised me with.
4. New socks I treated myself to.

These past few days I've been working on my secret project.  I'm nearly ready to share it with you.  I've also started Pilates again!  I'm feeling quite motivated to keep up with this health and fitness kick.  If you have any motivational advice, I'm all ears.

Bits of my weekend

This weekend me and the gang went to stay at my Dad's near Stamford.  We ate lots of nice food, went on some new walks, visited a local village fete and had a generally fun and relaxing time.  Betty always enjoys herself there - she has lots of room to run around and harrass the local wildlife.  We're home now and ready to settle back in to the normal routine.  How has your weekend been?
