Rain
So this week it has done nothing but rain. It's meant I've gotten soggy on a few of the walks to work, but it's also meant some great catching up time with my to-do list. You may have noticed that I've changed my Blog header... yeah I taught myself new Photoshop skills! The benefits of bad weather.
I managed to bag myself a beautiful glass goldfish bowl which I plan to turn into my very own terranium at some point. I'm very happy with that purchase.
I've also been chillin' in this lovely cardigan my mum gave me. She's had it for years, so it will forever remind me of her each time I wear it (and our amazing trip to New York).
I've also been snaffling this tasty recipe found over on The Dainty Squid - it's truly scrummy and I highly recommend giving it a go yourself! I think it can also count as one of my 15 new recipes I tried this year.
And finally a cute picture of Betty - how angelic does she look in this picture? Deceivingly so...

DIY: Mosaic Mirror
Hello crafty people! Today I want to share with you an easy DIY project that I completed a couple of weekends ago. I've recently been swooning over anything gold, so when I spotted these self-adhesive mosaic pieces in Hobby Craft I knew straight away what I wanted to do with them...
What you will need:
- Mirror (I got mine from Ikea)
- White acrylic paint
- Gold acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Masking tape
- Mirror mosaics in colour of your choice (I used about 3 packs for my mirror)
Apply some masking tape to the inside border of your mirror to avoid getting paint on the mirror itself; then paint a base coat in white - this will help the second gold coat stand out.
Paint your second coat in gold. I did this so that the gaps between your mosaic pieces will blend better with the gold mirror.
Start sticking your mosaic pieces! You can do this in any way you like - you can be as neat or as random as you like with the pieces. It takes a little while, so be patient.
Finished! Now hang your shiny new mirror somewhere everyone can see, or prop it up on a ledge or mantlepiece. Either way it's bound to brighten up a dull space.
If you give this project a go, I'd love to see your results - leave a link in the comments below.

The Gallery: Pakayla Biehn
I've been feeling a little blah the last couple of days. My mister is away, work is way too busy and I feel I might be coming down with something (sad face). However after a couple of Ibruprofen and a little look through Pakayla Biehn's double exposure series, I think things are on the up.

My First Moleskine
I love anything that helps me be more productive, and often I let good ideas pass me by purely because I forgot to write them down at the time. Therefore I thought it necessary to carry with me something that would prevent that happening in the future.
Now it's not like I've never carried a notebook around with me before - I've carried notepads and scraps of paper that fill up my handbag, and second handbag, and purse... you get the idea. But that's not the most organised way of cementing my ideas, as it can be a brand new challenge just trying to find that scrap of paper with that amazing idea I know I had the other day!
I have often used my diary as a place to scribble thoughts and ideas, but I'm sure you can imagine how messy that can get when your jotting down appointments and to-do lists as well! I needed a place exclusively for my creative ideas - thus let me introduce my lovely new Moleskine.
I chose a Moleskine because of it's simple, beautiful design and it's history. I only jot down my ideas in here (rather than filling it up with other distractions), so I know when I open it up I'm bound to find some organised inspiration - love it!
I now include my Moleskine as an essential handbag item along with my diary, phone and other usual suspects - please note this post is not sponsored by Moleskine! Do you have anything you can't get by without?

Inspired: Yokoo
I remember the first time I saw this video a couple of years ago. I felt so so inspired and in complete awe and agreeance with everything she said (especially the bit about living life and working hard). I wanted to share this with you today because even now when I watch this short film, it fills me with such happiness and motivation. I hope it does the same for you.

I'm in love with these photographs from Kasia Bobula's backstage portfolio. It's all a bit magical isn't it?

This week
This week has been a strange one. After all the glorious weather we had last week, it took a turn for the bizarre and Sheffield got a covering of snow. Yep, for one day only we experienced a full on blizzard! Weird.
I've been making lots of origami inspired crafty things and swooning over the beautiful patterned paper (I love paper). Betty had a well needed bath and I went and got myself a new piercing - ouch!
Now I'm hoping to get lots done with this extra-long weekend (hooray for Bank Holidays). Do you have any Easter plans?

GOLD
Lately I've been obsessing over the colour Gold. I want to grab a can of spray paint and get busy covering everything in sight! Well maybe not everything, but I've got plenty of ideas for adding the golden touch to a few key objects around the home. I'll share more soon.
Which colours are you obsessing over lately?
